replacement front axle assembly S60 2002

Hi,
I am kind of in shock about this, but I suspect that the used OEM front axle assemblies (L + R) we had installed 30k miles ago are beginning to fail...

The parts (even used) were expensive enough. So I looked at FCP Groton and IPD. They are selling DSS brand front axle assemblies for $115.00 a piece! This is way less than the used (OEM) price we paid last time.

Does anybody have any knowledge of how these stand up? Should I do it?

thanks,

Rod

I just put them in this past week and followed install up with a 1k mile holiday vacation. Side by side they look exactly like what was already in there. Tons of people use DSS for their parts, so my assumption was they must be decent enough. They even come with the replacement bolt.

FCP, ask for the Turbobricks discount when you check out.

That's what I used! I replaced both of mine with those shortly after buying my car. I believe they were still the originals on the car when I bought it, and both boots were torn and they clunked and creaked like mad.

Like 25,000 miles later, the new ones are still fine =)
