Since my old Volvos have been giving me troubles recently, I was looking for new and used volvos. To my surprise, there is no more S60 in 2010 inventory (at least at the single dealership I checked.) Do you guys know anything on this? Why can't Volvo keep a model running longer?

is the debut for the new S60, according to the Volvo web site. An all new body to show where volvo is going, design wise.

I just wish us USA'ers would get multiple engine options. It would be nice to have a diesel generator coupled with 4 electric motors :)

If Volvo is going to have a new S60 to the end of next year, will it be a 2011 model? It is definitely rare in auto industry, isn't it? Wish it the best luck.

Nowadays, businesses seem to forget about what BAU (business as usual) is. They are less interested in earning their bread (BAU) than chasing potential/elusive butter (something new--may or may not be good). :-)

The S60 may or may not come back. It went into the redesign shop, but they were too busy with the XC60.

So a practical, good fuel mileage car has been replace with another doofy pseudo-car pseudo-SUV? Wasn't Volvo embarrassed enough by the XC90? Well, maybe it was a profit-maker, but I have certainly seen more used XC90s in Volvo lots over the last two years than any other models, maybe more than all the others combined.

Volvo has unofficially announced that a new S60 model will be introduced very soon - 12 months-ish.

I guess until it's officially announced everything else is heresay, but it sounds pretty set in stone to me.

They might not call it the S60 though - it sounds to me like their whole S series strategy is being revamped. I read once that the S40 and S60 would be replaced with a car smaller than the latter and larger than the former. A 2 for one deal. There's been no more news on that for a while though...

Current s60 body style is kaput. Done with 2009 model year. New model s60 coming probably late next fall ? Maybe winter. Current s60 is a great ride ! It's really a 2 passenger car with a back seat, loves to eat miles on long trips.
