New to me S70...Dark Green Antifreeze? S70

So I did it. I traded my trusty 93 850 for a 2000 S70 Turbo. Man does this thing haul compared to my old brick. I think that I did well. I got it for $5600 including tax title and they got my 850 with 4 bald tires, tracked windshield, a non-working drivers seat adjuster and cracked head light covers. It also was beginning to eat some coolant. My new ride has 99k on it so its almost brand new!

Anyway, I got no service records but a clean carfax. All fluids look recently changed except the ATF which I will be doing ASAP. The coolant is darker green almost a shamrock color. Definately not from the auto parts store. Is this volvo coolant? I always used Prestone in my 850 and I have never seen anything that dark. I like to change my antifreeze once a year, but this stuff is very clean looking with no cloudy color or anything. Anyone see a reason to change it? I think I may wait until summer. Also, anyone have a favorite readily available brand of coolant. I don't have ready access to a dealer.

Thanks all.

That is the VOlvo coolant, I buy mine at the dealer it is a dark teal green color. It's $20 for enough to fill the entire system more than once (when diluted 50/50 with distilled water of course). It might be cheaper at the parts store but I feel more comfortable using the same fluid, in case there are changes in pH etc.

Aftermarket coolant. Ask about the kelly green color at your local autoparts store. Only use coolant that is safe for aluminum blocks and distilled water.

Look for a timing belt sticker! Due at 105K, with a new manual tensioner and roller.

The ATF is 3309, I think Toyota also uses it.

Use synthetic motor oil only, 5W30 works pretty good.

Synthetic PS fluid!

Buy a code reader.
