1998 XC V70-XC70

I am looking at used cars. What was a good year for the XC pre-2000? And would that apply to the regular v 70's as well. Is the interior width the in the V70 and the XC?

Thanks,
Ken

1998 XC V70-XC70

I have had a 98 V70XC now for 4 months. It is a joy to drive because it is higher than the 850 and handles very well in ice and snow. I only had trouble with the hanger bearing on the prop shaft. I found one on E-Bay but haven't installed it yet. In Jersey we don't get much snow so I left it off . It get better gas mileage and faster response. I think it has the same interior space as the V70 because there is plenty of that. It is a much heaver car than the 850 and rides much smoother.
Other than the prop shaft problem, I changed the oil to Moble 1 and installed a new Mann filter, new all weather tires and now the rear shocks are starting to make noise. Iordered new ones from eEuroparts.com.
My daughter uses it most of the time traveling to N.Jersey twice a week and to work near home. I feel so much better knowing that she is safe in that heavy XC.
Good Luck with yours!!! RK
