850 cd player strangeness, but works well.. 850

hello! i have a strange issue that may just be something simple. I'm new to the 850's and don't know their ways yet.

my car originally had tape deck stereo with the 6 disk changer hookup.. I didnt want another changer so I ordered a perfectly functioning stock 850 stereo with the single disk player. The company had perfect feedback and the stereo came with the dealer code included.

Installation was simple.. i chose the cd mode and the player works flawlessly, however when i turn the car off it must reset something in the stereo because when i restart the car, it shoots my cd back out and goes to the radio mode, so i then have to select the cd setting and put the disk back in.

Is this at all normal? any button combination i can do to keep it in cd mode? Its drivin me nuts....

Thanks for any help!
Chris

Not normal. The radio should still be in the CD mode and resume playing where it left off.

If you still have the trunk CD player, it can be plugged into the rear of your new radio.

Go to: http://www.volvocars.com/us/tools/OwnersInfo/Pages/VolvoOwners.aspx
and register. Then look at "your Volvo" and select owner's library. Look for a 1997 850 owner's manual. Open the manual and read about the radio functions for your model radio.
