cat/exhaust clamp issues 850

I replaced the exhaust from the cat back with a new unit, and cannot seem to get the clamp seated properly - I must have had it on & off ten times, and I still get exhaust leak? Is it suppose to straddle the cat end and the pipe end evenly, or place more on one or the other? The ends of cat and pipe do not seem to be deformed...do I need to have someone really force the pipe up against the cat? Or maybe I have install and removed the clamp too many times and should try a new one? I would appreciate any help!

thanks
mark

It is best to have a helper push the pipe forward as you are ready to tighten it down. When tightening, do each side equally.
