ABS codes V70-XC70 1999

My wife reported that the ABS light came on the other day on her '99 NA V70. There was no light when I checked it later nor since. I went by Advance, but their reader doesn't read ABS codes. What should I do? Wait for a constant light? Get a shop to look for codes? Thanks

David,

When mine failed in my 98 v70 na, the light began to come on once in a while..then about 3 months later on full time. I did not have any other issues besides the light on and no abs. I sent my off to Victor and had it back in a few days...Im in NC too. It only takes 15 minutes to remove the module and 15 or less to put it back in. [assuming the little torx screws are not too corroded]--make sure you have a t5 socket before you mess with it.

When the ABS light comes on, you loose ABS. Not braking ability. With a brief light on, the module is giving you advance notice that it will need to be repaired before it starts snowing.
When the ABS comes on full time, you will start losing the speedo signal, the tranny arrow will start to flash, and things get worse. You seem to have at least another month to save money.

Should I go ahead and send it to Victor or Module Master for a rebuild or wait for it to get worse? TIA

Up to you. I would do it before you get some ice storms. When the module is out of the car, the speedometer will not work, other than that the car is drivable.
