Risk of operating with ABS module out? 850

Love this board and the other repair sites. I've replaced the EGR valve on the wifey's '95; the air pump and brake rotors on my '97 wagon, so now I'm getting cocky about my abilities - only it takes me all day, if not more.

I'm going to attempt to send in my ABS module for repair to BBA-Reman. I would like to still drive the car while it's gone. What are the risks? Is it just driving with working brakes but no ABS system? We did that before there such things. I suppose I'll need to cover the open module interface area?

You are correct, cover the electrical connections. I like to put them in a ziplock or something.

No danger driving it without the unit, your ABS doesn't work, and it won't wen the unit is out.

You will not have a speedo, and the odo will stop working until the unit is put back in. Just watch your gas gauge if it is accurate, you wouldnt want to run out of fuel. I think you are supposed to pull the fuse for the unit, I can't remember.

Otherwise, just follow their directions. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. Ive never used BBA, I use vitor.
