Years ago I had a 240 that went thru blubs, finally traced it to the voltage regulator. Changed that and the problem when away. You might want to check yours???

I have had this issue on an 850. Knock on wood but I am in a stable period of more than a year with the same bulbs. Couple of possible issues. Check your lens for a crack. Water will cause them to blow. I didn't think this was true but it appears to help: don't handle the bulb with your bare hand, the oil can cause the glass to overheat, use a glove. How old is your battery, surges will knock the fillament out.

    Good luck.

Hello, Yesterday (9/8/09), while looking at a 1994 850 wagon (130K, non-turbo), the owner took a time-out to change a low beam bulb. "This car does go through bulbs" he said. FWIW the bulb was a brand I've never seen before, as were the battery and tires. "They're cheap, but they're new", he said. Kira

It all depends on the heat and if you run with the lights switched on all of the time. I disabled the DRLs on my 1998 to save bulbs. The Syl Super brights are too hot and last about 1 year, the 'regular' bulbs last longer.

Also check the voltage at the bulb holder, you don't want to see 14V.

Hello, There are many variables. Lamp manufacturers have QA/QC. Factory seconds are weeded out and sold. I've learned that stores which tout 'the good stuff' buy these lamps for promotions. It happens with household lamps too. Are the roads rough where you live? How long does it take you to cover 10,000 miles? Do you handle bulbs correctly? Recommendation: Buy a matched pair when next you blow a bulb and change them both. I've been amazed how quickly the mate to a burnt-out bulb burns out. Kira
