Pwr Window Master Switch S70 2000

An '00 S70 main window switch has gone bad.
It does not feel right, and the other windows work intermittently, or did. By now it may be totally dead. Clearly needs a new switch.
But how to get the old one out?
Is it like the older cars where you just pried the assembly out of the armrest
and removed switches individually?
Did the 850 have the same switches, or were they on the console?
Any other car have a compatible switch?
I understand the a new one will be $100 and up.

Thank you very much.

      Matthew or other experts:
I've found several replacement switch assemblies on a popular auction site.
One has a bad master switch and seller says you can swap parts around.
Can I swap parts out of my own bad master switch and create one good assembly.
Both assemblies currently have bad driver side switches.
So will the left rear (for instance) switch supply parts for the left front (master) switch?

Also one available item does not say AUTO on the master switch.
Will it work in place of one that does say AUTO?

      Thanks,
      Sixvolvos

This one looks better than the "broken" one:
        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99-00-VOLVO-V70-S70-MASTER-WINDOW-SWITCH_W0QQitemZ330354246407QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4ceaa5c307&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Why buy one that doesn't work and doesn't look like an original. There is another from a 1999 S70 that also looks OK. Make sure you look at the pics carefully, one says it works but the switches look real gummy which means that the car was parked in the sun all of the time. The gum/goo cannot be cleaned off without also removing the white symbols.

There is one out there for $50, buy it now price. Also looks real good.

          Klaus:
The simple answer is that the upholstery is black.
Your link was to a grey one.
Actually, it is my daughters' car and she wants only matching stuff.
Low cost is also a priority. My time fiddling with it is free.
I see no other cheap black switches right now.
Figure I cannot go wrong with a real cheap non-working one.
I'm hoping that Matthews site will verify that internal parts are common.
Plan B is to pay more for a working one.

      Oops!
When I clicked on your link I found the exact info that I needed.
Not sure why I did not find it while looking earlier.
Same bad luck as prying on things, I guess.

      Thanks for the link.

      Yes, a good site.
I've been there, and it clarified my guess that a new master switch was needed.
But I did not find just how to remove the assembly from the armrest.
I don't have very good luck just prying on things.

        Switch problem solved!
Bought a switch assembly from Switch Doctor for $100, delivered.
One shop said it was not the assembly because he put in a working assembly from another car and it did not work. However the circuit breaker was hot so it was open. Once it cools all is well. He should have swapped the two circuit breakers first. This caused some delay in finding the problem source.

I have the old switch assembly apart, partially. Still do not see how to get into the insides. Anyone trying to repair one of these is in for a task!

The sunroof seems to be regarded as another window.
It works off the master switch as well.
It is not a separate problem.

Sunroof has it's own switch but shares the circuit breaker.
