Brake hex socket, need quick help. V70-XC70 AWD R

Ok,

I'll be changing my rotors and pads this evening and I could only find a 7mm hex bit socket. Will that work as good as a 7 mm hex socket? I'd rather find out now than get into it and find out it doesn't work.

Thanks in Advance,

Bill in Denver

They stock them at Sears. It is a 3/8 drive 7mm allen wrench. They are available individually or as part of a set.

Hey Bill,

I'm not positive, but I think they're saying that you will need a hex bit inside a socket. The hex bit is kinda like cutting an Allen wrench off & putting it in a socket. Now again, I'm not positive; I'm saying this because I see that tool for sale in IPD catalogs often when working on brakes. Look into it before you start getting into it. Good luck!

Thanks guys I found out that they are one and the same. Now my bigger problem is the rear rotors.... Got the fronts done but the rears.... See the above post about my rear rotors blunders...

I think what you're describing is one and the same.

there are 6 point and 12 point sockets, but only 6 point hex bits - the IPDUSA website probably has a picture of the one they sell. If it looks the same you're probably OK.
