poltergeist? flashing hazard lights that turn on and off without human intervention V70-XC70 1998

Please help. This morning, as I was about to go grocery shopping, I opened my car door, and the hazard lights began flashing. I couldn't start the car and I couldn't turn off the hazard lights. My husband took out the fuse for the hazard lights. The lights stopped, but the car wouldn't start still. He put the fuse back in and the hazard lights went on. About 15 mins. after calling AAA, the hazard lights stopped blinking, and the car started up again. This whole process happened once before about 2 weeks ago with the same weird pattern. Any idea what is happening here. We did have the hazard relay switch replaced a couple of months ago.

Calm down. It is not the hazzard switch, it is you alarm system.

Next time that happens, raise the hood and let it slam shut. Many times, it is because the hood sensor for the security system is not in contact and has an open signal. The good part? Your alarm siren no longer works!!!

Thanks. I'll try that next time it happens. I do hope you're right.
