Misfire with CEL, goofy codes 850 1996

Ok, so my 855 wagon has this misfire, so I give a tune up, and it still misfires. So I borrow an OBDII meter, and I get the following codes:

P1102 - fuel air metering
P1310 - ignition system or misfire
P0245 - turbo wastegate/sup solenoid a low
P0300 - random/multiple misfire
P0303, P0304 - misfire in cyclinders 3/4

curiously, I have run the meter a few times, and I do not get all the codes every time. the only one I get every time is the solenoid code.

the DTC for the turbo code says I was going 22 mph, with rpm = 840. odd that a turbo issue would crop up when there is no boost going on.

the bigger issue is the misfires. I am going to check my compression, supposed to be between 155-185? I wll do the teaspoon of oil to see if the rings are bad. I had the headgasket replaced 6 months ago, and the shop said the head was not cracked.

any ideas?

Misfire with CEL, goofy codes 850 1996

checked all my cyinders last nite, and here's what I got:

#1 = 82 psi
#2 = 86
#3 = 90
#4 = 100
#5 = 85

curiously, my highest values are on the cylinders that got the misfire codes 3 and 4). I also rescanned the obd2 numerous times (clearing the codes after each scan), no misfire codes now. You can still hear the slight misfire while idling, but it's got to be quiet in order to hear it.

In all this time, no decrease in fuel mileage.

Check your compression on a warm engine, and don't forget to hold the throttle wide open. I was able to 'improve' ;-) my compression from teh low 100's to the 180's jst by remembering to do that simple thing!

I checked #3 last nite (all I had time for). 90 psi, and that was after 4 or 5 turns of the key. I did it a second time, only got 50 psi. I assume cylinder #4 is to the right (closer to the dist cap)?

Are all the Plug wires correctly connected to the distributor ?
Is there a crack in the distributor ?
Check for a jumping spark in the dark.
Are all the injectors working ?
Fowled plug ?
If all that has been checked maybe Klaus has an answer .

All the wires, dist. cap etc are new. I replaced the wires one at a time to not mess up the order. Haven;t checked the plugs yet, will do when I do compression check.

how do check the injectors?

Compression test must be done with a warm engine, cold is misleading.

Clean and gap the plugs at .028

I checked them after my drive home last nite. I did check the gaps, and they were all off, so I regapped them. Could this be causing the misfire?
I was in a rush to get in to the office today, so I didn't check it at idle.

After doing the obd2 this am, no misfire codes.

You just have to go to bed earlier so you can get up on time :)

Poor gaps will do that.

Also, the tips and electrodes all had a grayish deposit on them, but the metal ring at the bottom of the threads (that would be exposed to the combustion chamber) had a hard black soot on them (could not scrape off). Is this normal?
The plugs are less than a year old.
