Pothole destroyed front end! Need Advice S60 2001

I have a ultra clean black 2001 S60 2.4T with 92K.
Two weeks ago I hit a massive hothole at 30mph and it knocked the alignment out and in the course of 300 miles completly wore out my new front tires. Our other car was in the shop so I didnt get a chance to bring it in becasue my wife needed it.

NTB could not align it so I took it to an alignment expert shop who then told me I had a bent subframe, rim, balljoints, possible swaybar and shock tower and control arm!?!

So i took the car to a collision shop and I am waiting for the final word today.
I have full coverage and a $750 deductable.

Questions:

1. THe car is worth about $7k at what point would insurance total it out?
2. Should I have it repaired and keep it if its totals out? I really like the car but I dont want a money pit.
3. Any experience you could share?
4. What eould you guess the damage $$$ would be? I cant find used subframes anywhere. Are they $400 or $2000 or somewhere in between?

Just looking for some advice, and worried my car is trashed.

The repair shop called and said I have about $2000 worth of damage so far. Subframe alone is $1500 then the rim and they cant tell yet but I might need control arms yet.

Im glad its not totaled, its been the best car ive had.

I find it most difficult to believe the subframe is bent. Control arms? yes Steering components? yes Wheel? yes Sway bar? doubious
That must have been one heck of a hit!

Most insurance companies will total the car if the cost to repair exceeds 75% of auction price. That is smaller than you think. If you buy the car from them, then it will be tagged "salvage" and worth much less even if it is fixed properly. The salvage notation never goes away.

If the repairs are made with OEM components, it will be expensive but good.

In my experiance, a typical newer car with "salvage" is not worth it. Parting it out is not worth the aggrevation. And with all of the discounts on new cars, I would get a newer car.

Yeah I was really surprised that the subframe was bent, but I have had 3 shops independently come to that conclusion. The body shop said they could go up to $6000 in repairs before the insurance company would total it out, so I should be in the clear.

In the past 15 months the car has had a rebuilt transmission and new struts. Drove and looks like new so I would prefer to fix it and keep going. It is a great car.
