Vent Setting Motor 850 1993

Hello -

I'm new here, and tried briefly to use the search to find my question, but nothing seemed to come up.

Anyway, the little motor that switched the vents from defrost, to floor, to the dash vents seems to be broken. When I turn on my '93 850, the LEDs of the recirculate and A/C switch blink for about a minute then resume their normal operation.

The more pressing symptom is that I cannot change between the different vents using the circular switch that usually controls that. The only vents that seem to work are the defrost vents, although a small amount of air does come out of the dash and floor vents.

I am pretty sure the little motor that switches between the vents is broken, but I am not 100% sure. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this, and if it is the motor, how I can find one?

Thanks a lot

Your 1993 has 2 diagnostic boxes on the passengerside fender, behind the washer fluid bottle. The B box, slot 1 is for the ECC unit. You need to find the fault that is making the unit flash its lights and turn off. The codes will be very specific.

There are so many dampers, heat/AC, left right, defrost vent floor. Not to mention the 2 temp sensors located behind the front window grab bars that get covered with dirt.
