NGK iridium work great so far S70 1999

I bought a used s70 AWD with 144k. It ran pretty well but wanted to go over it really well. Checked the plugs and they look new but the gap was poor. They were NGK iridiums with a gap of like 1.1. Gapped them down to .30 and found that the idle was much better and smoother. It was really quiet now. Next is the following.
motor mounts all
strut seats
serpentine belt
oil pick up seals (occasional tapping sound)
vvt? p0013 and p1332
darn drivers knee panel is off and loose..... How do I fix that?

Am I forgetting anything?
Thanks
Good to back in a volvo. Had a 240 and 740. They sounded more solid but the s70 is much nicer.

Thanks guys for the input. I appreciate it. I'm doing motor mounts this weekend. Is there anything else I have to do for AWD? Thanks

Just check the sway bar end links, they should be tight.

Grab a large wrench and try to turn the top nut on the struts, clockwise. If they turn, consider getting new seats.

Then drive it like you hate it :)

    soundproofing panel fix S70 1999

    bya8,

This panel is a real bear to install.

Make sure that the L&R rear edges are engaged into the white holders attached to the left kick panel and tunnel.

It is very common for the left front attachment slot to break.

The screw really doesn't hold the panel up, but only prevents it from being knocked loose by vibration or impact.

If it is installed correctly and the front attachment isn't broken, it will fit.

If it isn't installed correctly, even securing the screw through metal (not a factory design) will not make it fit. It will keep it up though.

    Good luck,
    Bryan

Most 1999s have VVT. First, clear the codes. Then pull off the cam pos sensor and check for a light oil leak at the rear cam seal. Clean the CP sensor and put it back, before buying a replacement.
You can also check the timing by rotating the engine by hand and visually checking the cam marks. They need to be spot on the mark. Your next scheduled timing belt change is at 200K.

The oil should have been synthetic, but dealers cheat and use cheaper dino stuff. You might want to run a bottle of AutoRx to help clean things out. Make sure there is a Mann filter.

Replace the air filter with new, as well as the cabin air filter.

Replace those iridium plugs with copper! Copper lasts longer and the ignition is designed for copper plugs.

The screw that holds the kick panel needs to go through a metal clip. Make your own by folding over a quality metal tab and drill the correct size hole in the tab.
