Gentlemen,
My wife recently had a minor accident on our V70 T5'01. The only damage
we've got is a right front headlamp : lens is gone and plastic frame got
several cracks (while bulbs & mirror sufrace are all ok). Anyway it seems like whole headlamp assembly better be replaced.
So here comes sad part. My dealer named the price for this part as $410 (+$80 for 1hr labor) which sounds terrible to me. My insurance put in the estimate $292 (+$65 1hr labor) which is also not good since they will do it using god-knows-what-kind-of-part and definitely not "Volvo" body shop for that.
I found this part as "Item Number: P8000-66830" at the newandusedvolvoparts.com for $169 BUT: somewhy they have the same one listed for V70 1998-2000 which is wrong since those headlamps are definitely different. Another strange thing is that they have it as made by "Hella" while the one that is currently in my car is manufactured by "Valeo".
So, I guess the question here is:
1) Where can I get the _real_ (meaning the one I can trust ;-) ) part number for this part ?
2) If it's "classified" but one of you can find it - could you help me here ?
3) Which price should be reasonable ?
4) How difficult is it to replace (and aim if needed) this headlamp on V70'01 ?
Thanks, guys.
Yours,
Andrey
