Radiator hoses S70

I have a 1999 S70 GLT with 100k miles.
Any ideas on putting in new radiator hoses for upper and lower?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

At 100K, it is probably a bit early for that operation. But, if you do:

Make sure the clamps at the radiator are in the identical position as before, a new position will probably crack the plastic. Also, don't over tighten the hose clamps.

If you are replacing hoses, replace the small hose from the overflow bottle as well. The heater hoses that go from the block to the firewall????

And don't be too cheap, $17 for a gallon of Volvo antifreeze isn't too much more than the $12 of brand X at the autoparts store.

What milage is good to replace if 100k is a bit early?
      The car is a 1999.
The upper hose is starting to bulge and look worn near the radiator but the lower one looks good still.

Well, it is 10 years old, and if you notice a bulge change it out ASAP. When I did mine, I loosened the bottom hose at the engine first - with a 2 gallon bucket to catch the antifreeze. Much easier than trying to drain with the 2 drain plugs.
Change both hoses, get new clamps.

Klaus I have seen you a few times talk about $17 coolant from volvo. The dealers around here ar up to $38. I buy Blue Hepu for the same and from what I've read it's better. I beleive it is what Benz uses. Any thoughts?

I don't know nothin about MB engines, eventhough I have one. I just remember the horror stories from the Volvo aluminum block 6 cyls where the block would pit until it leaked through the walls. Even at $38 per gallon, it is only flushed every other year and spending an extra $10 per year is no big deal for piece of mind.

When replacing radiator hoses, go for Volvo. All my aftermarket hoses on both RWD and FWD tend to oooze fluid. It is if the fabric part of the hose leaks slightly. Never a problem with genuine Volvo. I question if the inner part of the hose completely covers the fabric.
