Exhaust system V70-XC70

Is this a common problem???
I recently noted that both tailpipe hangers (they are next to each other) just forward of the muffler have rusted and detached from the exhaust pipe.
The car is a 2004 V70 (90K miles) and when I checked my wife's 2003 XC (65K), the same two bracket were failed.
Is there a better fix than (per dealer) installing a new bracket and re-welding the support pin to the exhaust pipe????????

Yep, they no longer use solid Swedish steel. The Chinese have some cheaper stuff. Volvo doesn't mind, the lack of supports causes the down pipe to crack and that costs more to fix.

Find a good welding shop and have it done correctly, with good steel.
