What's up with this? The A/C system will deliver chilled air but only for a while before the compressor disengages and starts blowing ambient temp. The odd thing is that it doesn't seem to disengage if the car just sits still. Sat at a drive thru to test it and got nothing but cold air for 30 minutes but almost the moment I pulled away, the compressor kicked out. Would welcome theories on what is going on. Thanks yo

Mine was doing the same thing (1998 V70 5-speed 280k). The compressor clutch had worn and the gap was too wide, so it would'nt engage when it heated up. I just (last month) pulled the compressor out and removed a shim, bringing the gap back within spec. Works great now.
