Coolant Hose???? 850 94

To all,

I have on the drivers side, rear of my radiator at the bottom a roughly 90 elbow hose that is weeping (I believe) coolant. Smells like coolant, looks like water, must be coolant... right?

Anyway - my car is an 850 TURBO...

What leads to the hose is a hard (plastic, metal?) pipe running vertically behind the radiator on the drivers side.

Before I dump this fluid (or buy the elbow) I need to know what it is, and what fluid it contains.

Thanks for any help... leak is VERY small.

Barry

Re: Coolant Hose???? 850 94

That sounds like the intercooler hose. If it is, then the liquid is most likely blow by from the engine. Is the hose 1.25 inches or 2.5 inches. If its the larger of the two than its the intercooler ducting.

It looks to be about 2.5" in diameter. Black hose with white threads in a crosshatch pattern.

So, there is coolant in that hose? Need to do a flush anyway.

Thanks,

Barry

You may need to take a look at your engine. There should not be that much fluid in your intake path. If your sure the pipe is atleast over 2 inches, its safe to take it off. I would just pop it off and see whats inside. It should be fairly clean barring a little oil blow by. BTW if your coolant has more than 25k on it I would just go ahead and flush it.
