Does anybody knows how can I turn the "Daytime Running Lights" ON?

Thank You very much!

I cannot answer your question regarding the 440. The 850s have what appears to be a very small screw on the front of the light switch plate. If the screw is straight up/down, the DRLs are on. At 11:00 o'clock, the DRLs ar off.

But, the DRLs include everything the headlight switch does except turn on the instrument panel lights. You might as well leave the headlight switch on, and let the lights turn off when you turn the car off. I suggest not turning the instrument lights to the brightest setting, 80% will save the light bulbs.

Hello!
Thank you for your answer!

From what I know, all 440/460 they had the same light switch plate, without that screw.

If I'll won't find how to turn them ON... I will try to leave them always on and I will have to deal with that annoying warning sound when I'll shut off the engine.

Cheers!

Hy again!

I made another test and unfortunately I can't leave the lights always ON.
The back lights are remaining ON... :(

I wish Volvo would have sold the 440 here in the USA, the diesel engine makes it very reliable. Unless it is full of cat hair :) There should be an in-tank filter at the end of the fuel pick up.

I don't think the headlight switch from an 850 would fit your car, otherwise you could order a used one from the USA.

Hello!
Well... sorry for that. But if you'll ever come into my town, I will gladly let you drive my diesel 440, as much as wish. ;)

I still have some problems with the fuel system (even there's no cat hair now there) but at least a solved the problem with having DRL. :)

I changed the light switch and now everything is ok. I have DRL!

There 5 wires to the lights switch but only 3 contacts on the back of the switch.
I found a switch with 5 contacts... also from a diesel 440 and now I'm satisfied!

Many thanks for the support!
Cheers!

P.S. I have some pictures with the switches but unfortunately i don't know how to upload them. :D
