Worn top engine mount 850 1996

Just wanted to thank Bay 13 for the advice on the "popping" noise on over-run coming from somewhere in our car. It was indeed a worn engine mount- the top one. After hack-sawing the old one out (easy), I took about two hours to insert the new one using a couple of bits of wood and a longish bolt (hard!). It wouldn't insert the whole way and it ended up rotated 90 degees from what it should be, but that bloody noise is gone! (It was getting worse). Thanks again- it sometimes seems that there are about five people in the entire world who've got a handle on these cars!

Sorry to hear it took two hours. A nut bolt two wrenches a washer if I recall about 2 1/4" the other larger. Place 2 1/4 washer on bolt, slide on new mount, insert bolt through housing add larger washer and nut. Tighten nut. This will not even out bushing on the bracket but will be close.

Peter,

It's a little late, but perhaps someone else can benefit from this response. IPD sells a two-piece replacement that goes in much easier, whole job didn't take me half an hour. Rich/Bay 13 is a wonderful resource.

Ron
