dreaded door panel delamination V70-XC70

Hi All,
Has anyone come up with a decent solution for the door panel insert delamination issues?? Mine is a 98 and since it spent its first 7 years in a garage, this only started to occur this year.

The only solution is to take the door panels off, cut out the glued in center panel, and let an upholstery shop put in a new piece. Then you glue it back in and put the panel back on the door. You should do all 4 doors at the same time so the new vinyl matches.

Thanks Klaus. I guessed as much but was hoping someone had success in "re-gluing" the originals or something like that--it appears to be of fairly poor quality and must have some sort of jute or foam backing.

It is the backing of the vinyl that separates from the vinyl and stays glued to the door. It cannot be re-glued because of the shrinking vinyl, it can only be replaced with better quality vinyl or leather.

dreaded door panel delamination - scraping the old foam is hard V70-XC70

There was a repair kit that Volvo sold for awhile, but some Volvo technicians told me it was a real mess to clean off the glued foam (the backing that was under the vinyl).
