Dim Headlight V70-XC70

Hello, I would certainly appreciate some help. I recently had my Volvo inspected and I found out that one of my headlights was dim. My first thought (the same as many of you) was that my lens was dirty and perhaps a bit yellow but much to my surprise, it isn't. I was told that perhaps Volvo has a special headlight that only Volvo sells. If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate your help? Thanks in advance!

What year is your car?
The lenses are glass and the bulbs are generic and can be purchased anywhere. I also would suspect wiring first, especially the plug. Try cleaning the connections first.

Before buying any replacement parts...check the grounding wires for corrosion... I had a 760 and the clip is mounted inside the fender...

Dim Headlight usually = bad ground or corroded connector V70-XC70

Frank is right, a dim headlight usually means a bad ground, especially if you live in a road salt area. Also, disconnect the headlight connectors and clean the contacts with emery cloth. But don't touch the bulb with bare hands, use cloth or tissue paper.
