blowing fuses...cigarette lighter 850

I have an '95 850 wagon - I haven't owned it that long but it's in nice shape overall - other than this there have been no other electrical problems.

Cigarette lighter fuse - a 10 amp - is blowing repeatedly before I can use it once with replaced fuse. The lighter is the only item at this fuse position.

Any thoughts? Hate to think it's the start of some widespread rot of wire sheaths, etc leading to random troubles.

thanks,
Andrew / Mps, Mn

No, not a wide spread problem, just a short in the bottom of the cigarette lighter or a wire that chaffed raw. Removing the lighter means removing the center console, there is a bolt on the backside of the console holding the lighter in place.

You could try blowing the dirt out, but it usually gets into your eyes. Most autoparts stores still sell lighted cigarette lighters.
