AC bypass 850

Does anyone know what belt length is needed to bypass the AC system on an 850? I see the Hanynes manual lists a routing without AC. Most Parts catalogs don't list this because I assume it is not common. I am looking to bypass the AC verses adding additional repair to my 1993 850.

AC bypass 850

I lost a pulley bearing on my 960 near Las Cruces,N.M.,2500 milea from home.I used a nylon string around the remaining pulleys to obtain a rough measurement.I bought three 6-rib belts from Autozone nearest my measurement.
The middle one,50 inch, fit perfectly.

The same belt probably will not fit your 850,but this method will find the right belt for your car.

If the compressor bearing is OK you can just disconnect the compressor clutch wire.

ALL 850s in the USA had AC, there are no belts held by parts suppliers that do not fit AC.

Why not leave teh belt in place? Unless the bearings in the compressor clutch are worn, if you don't turn the AC on, there is no additioan drag to speak of, and no other problems. With the compressor clutch not engaged, all that is turning is the pulley.
I don't know if there is a bypass belt available.
