Just wondering, anyone in the Tampa Bay area on this forum?

I'm in Tampa also.

Some negative comments about a couple of the Tampa area dealers. Curious as to anyone's experience with Volvo Village. I've previously heard of some neighbors who went out of their way to do business with them.

Not having much luck selling my 850 since Sept 11. Anyone with suggestions

on best places to list or how to go about this in an efficient manner? I've never done a FSBO before, don't really have the time for it.

I went to Volvo Village once for them to trouble shoot my weird no start electrical problem. They said it was the alternator and it would cost $500. I didn't do it but brought the car to EBS Auto Electric in Clearwater and was told the Alternator was fine. (That was the dirty ground connection problem.) So, I'm not likely to go back to Volvo Village. They were clueless even after keeping the car overnight, and having the car repeat the symptoms for them as they said they had to do to trouble shoot. I'm surprised they never had that problem before since we hear about it on the Brickboard fairly regularly. Also, Volvo Village offers junky rentals to use while the car is in the shop. At least Ferman Volvo gives me a new Volvo loaner every time it's in for service that I can't wait for. (Oh, they also couldn't diagnose that electrical problem but it didn't do it for them.)

VOLVO of TAMPA is good. Volvo Village is good too. I goto Ludek's Mercedes Benz, he's the man. for out of warranty stuff, most definately go there, he is extremely smart, fast, and experienced. if you are interested in more info on him let me know, he specializes in mercedes but has tons of experience with all volvos. as far as STEALERS, goto Volvo of Tampa or Volvo Village. the rest of em don't really strike me as great places.

experience:

i was speeding in the rain on bayshore in safety harbor and slid into a muddy ditch. there was no damage to the car, but a ton of mud all over the interior. so volvo village repaired it. when i got the car back though, there were new problems such as cuts in the weather stripping, problems with turn signals, and uh - oh yeah - they forgot to replace a power window motor that had failed previously under warranty. the repairs and clean up they did was great - but they sure left alot of new problems in their wake.

experience:

my steering wheel got that goop on it and was all messed up. VOT replaced it under warranty with a NEW type of volvo wheel with extra padding they called the "sport" wheel. it's nice :-). VOT is higher on my list than VOV, id recomend them over volvo village anyday.

Has anyone been to VALVO (repair shop, only Volvos) in Tallassee? They seem like they might be OK ... after talking to them.

hey Tampa here as well..live in clearwater....PS stay away from Ferman Volvo in Tarpon Springs...service no great there!!!

I'm in N. Pinellas Co, FL. I've been using Ferman Volvo in Tarpon Springs. Who would you recommend instead? I still need to get my evaporator done. I brought mine to Euro-Tech in Palm Harbor once for brakes. They seemed fine but no savings from the dealer.

Ferman Sucks. try volvo village if you must or VOLVO OF TAMPA. the guys at VOT will do anything for a "Excellant Grade".when i say anything, i mean ANYTHING, including the free steering wheel they gave me ;-)

try German Imports on Walsingham in Largo or Volvo Village.

Stay away from Tampa Volvo.

Eurosport Autohaus is good. Gene Perez would be my primary suggestion but they "dont do volvo's" guess they're too good for em. salemi's does a good job s well.

Had my '62 P1800 then too, not now however (don't ask).

Not a place to be in the summer I must say, way too hot and humid for me.
