96 850 radio code problem 850 1996

That OFF has always bothered me. Leave the radio on and the key in pos I for 2 hours, the radio will then reset itself to say CODE.

If you know the code, try again. If you don't know the code, then a call to the parts dept at the dealer is in order. I write mine on the top of the radio, so I can pull it out a little and refresh my memory :) I write mine as a 6 digit number, the first and last are greater than 6.

Leave it in the off mode for about 2hrs. it will reset and ask for the code again. to get the code call your volvo dealer with the vin number and they will give you the code. some will do it just over the phone. others might ask you to bring in the car registration and id. but more of then then note if you remove the radio its written on top.
