S60 Transmission Jerks on acceleration from stop S60 2001

My 2001 S60 non-turbo 'jerks' into motion when starting off from a stop unless I'm kind of drifting forward a little and then step on the gas.
Is this telling me the trans is on the way out? Is there an adjustment that can be made? thanks

Could it be a bad motor mount? Open the hood so that you can see the ttop of the engine and shift to D with your foot on the brake. If there is a lot of movement, check the mounts.

Check the tranny fluid, it should be reddish. When checking the level, make sure the engine is warm, the car in P, and the engine running.

      Klaus-
Yes the upper torque bush is halfway split and the engine does move.
Do I need to remove the bracket to replace the bush? Press-in?
I read that Volvo retired this round bush to a square design one because
      of failures.
Also, should the torque rod mounts be replaced as well, I think maybe they
have bushings too that are worn, the rod seems to have a lot of play.
      Any help appreciated.

I cheated on my 1998 V70 and used a polly bushing, it will never fail.

Do you mean the end links? Replace them if there is any play, I also got mine from IPD which supplies a slightly beefier rod which lasts a long time.
