Not a mystery, but use PlastiFix for a permanent repair. S70

Hi all,

After hearing my dash click like a computer keyboard for too many years, I removed it from the car and, sure enough, the tabs on either end were completely torn away.

My guess is that the bolts were over-tightened by the ham fisted dealer techs.

I first repaired them with JB Weld but a sharp pull with only body force pulled them apart again.

So, I really "welded" them with PlastiFix and now they are at least as strong as when the part was cast. Therefore, I don't see the need to add pipe strap or other reinforcement.

Since we got hit with a Spring blizzard, I won't get to reinstall the dash until this week-end.

Anyway, looking forward to a quieter ride.

Bryan

Hi Klaus,

Get it from Urethane Supply Company:

www.urethanesupply.com

It comes in clear, black or white powder.

Just make sure that you remove every trace of contaminant and rough up the repair area for best results.

Bryan
