considering buying a 2009 S-60 T-5 S60

I been tossing around the idea of buying a 2009 S-60 T-5.
My thought is that this model should be rather refined after all the updates
on a long 8 year run. What are your opinions?
I COULD wait for the new 2010 S-60 to come out but it looks to be down on power
and is a new model from the ground up and first year run models kinda scare me.
I am coming off a 1999 S-70 T-5.
I just read that on march 31st the last S-60 was assembled in Sweden....

Don't do it. Had the opportunity to rent a 2.5t for 3 days. By the 3rd day I was tired of it and couldn't wait to get my s70 out the shop. Nice car but the turning circle is too big, the interior is plain looking, the cruise control switch is in a terrible location on the steering wheel. Accidently hit it on more than one occasion, thankfully wasn't nobody in front of me. Volvo after all this time still hasn't figured out how to make a nice riding car because over a big enough bump the car wiil make you feel like your riding the bus. Get something else. You'll be bored with it by the time you get home.

We just took delivery of a '09 S60 2.5T a few weeks ago, after trading in our '94 850GLT. The new S60 is refined, comfortable and goes like stink! We spared no expense with the complete luxury pkg inlcuding body kit and rear wing. The car is turning heads with the body kit as it gives the car a very aggressive look in the sport department. Turn off the traction control, put the transmission (geartronic) into first gear, drop the pedal and the car will smoke the Pirellis no problem, while at the same time remain smooth and linear. This I have only done twice as I just had to see what the car could do. We also upgraded the rims to 17" Multispoke Alloys. Bottom line, the car is for my wife and she just loves it.

The company stopped production of 09s because of poor sales. Buy one, you will like it. A bit more cramped than the V70.

      Thanks Klaus.
What are you opinions about the new 1.4L direct injection gasoline engine volvo is coming out with in the new S-60? Volvo NA told me thru e-mail there will not be a diesel in the new version.

Without reducing the weight of the S60 substantionaly, the 1.4L will not let the car go up hill.
Your T5 engine will go faster in reverse. And still get close to 30mpg on the highway.

          Opinion well taken.
          My '99 S70 T-5 gets 33-35 mpg.
