removing intake manifold 850 1994

I'm back to working on the '94 n/a 850.

How do you reach the lower intake manifold bolt on the timing belt end of the engine ? I could get all the other ones with a 10mm wrench. That one I can't reach with a wrench or a socket. Either the manifold, the thermostat housing, or the power steering hose is in the way. Any tips, tricks, ideas ?

thanks

Greg

I used a swivel with a 6" extension. Remember to take off the support bolt for the manifold, right next to the dipstick tube holder.
The bottom mani bolts should not come off, just nice and loose. They hold the manifold up so it doesn't fall.

That nut is a prick. I use a swivel on every one except that one.

By the way, the bottom of the manifold has slots instead of holes so all you need to do is loosen them a couple or three turns and then lift the intake off.

The way I get to the last bolt on the front of the motor is to stack another extension on and go after it, without a swivel, through the power steering hoses.

It will take a bit of "hunt and peck" to get onto the nut.
