Ok! let's start....

I needed a replacement "DD" for my truck, (which is need of a new motor).

This coupe (1998 C70) came up on "Craigslist" for a good price, so.. the short and tall of it is.... I now own a C70.

The trouble...(THE DOOR CHIME)......(So with the engine running).....If I open the 'glovebox'(the chime will sound)...If I open the 'Sunroof'(the chime will sound)......hell....If I open the 'Vanity mirror' on the sunvisor (It's that dam chime again)

So far I have not been able to get my hands on a repair manual (Hayes or Chilton) for this car in my area

1) I already know (Just pull the chine)....NOT AN OPTION)
2) Can "ANYONE" tell me the "BOOK NUMBER"for a 1998 C70 coupe

ALL HELP IS VERY MUCH WELCOME..(even if is just to chuck with me )

There is a repair manual, but it is Great Britian based (rhd), and it will not solve your problem:

Your problem is probably in the overhead light fixture, that is where all of the "chime" wiring goes through. Take the plastic light lenses off and undo the torx screws that hold up the cover. Then look for a bad ground wire or a chaffed wire.

Thank You for steering me in the right direction....

When I removed the light cover ...there it was.....A pinched wire that had cut through the wire covering and provided an "intermitted ground" this would complete the circuit.......(hence) the chimes at differant location.
