Has anyone made an oil filter wrench or adapted a tool for this?

I have a 01 V70 T5a that I'vebeen able to use a strap wrench on, but recently bought a wrench from FCP Groton.

For $10 or less you should be able to buy the "Removal cap"
that fits the bottom of the filter, in most auto parts store. I do not
think you can squeeze a strap type wrench into the area.....

,,,or you can drive a 6 inch blade screwdriver through the filter, and use it as a wrench...messy but effective

NO!!! The new filters are 2 pieces, the core gets replaced.
The old Mann filters were in a position where a band could be wrapped around the filter and loosened, the new filters are in a crummy location.

Best bet is to get a filter cap tool from an auto parts store. Take it out to the parking lot and make sure it fits! Which means driving without the air guide attached to the bottom of the car.
