New (used) V70 V70-XC70 2004

Bought a used 2004 V70 and would appreciate input on recommended first steps. It was serviced at a dealer until warranty end (145,00 kms. on it now) but no records available since the warranty ran out. I understand the first timing belt change is due at 168,000 kms. Dealer looked it over and reports it's in OK shape but fluids need changing (coolant and tranny), so in addition to those I would also change the engine oil and check the tire pressure.
Anything else (brake fluid, power steering...)? Also, how can I determine what tranny it's got (VIN#?), and what type of fluids are recommended.
Is it worth switching to synthetic engine oil?
Thanks

When in doubt, change the brake fluid, antifreeze, PS fluid, tranny, and engine oil. Use synthetic! It lasts much longer and stays cleaner.
Your tranny is an automatic 5 speed and requires synthetic fluid, either very expensive Volvo brand or slightly cheaper Mobil 3309.
PS fluid should be bought at the dealership, using only 1 liter makes the expense relatively small.
Use Volvo brand spark plugs, if yours are starting to show age.
Change the air filter and cabin air filter (behind the passenger kick plate), and time to change the fuel filter.
