Misfire with CEL 850 1996

I have a 96 850T with 220k, auto. I recently had the head gasket repalced (for $1250!) and when I picked it up, I noticed there was a slight misfire w/ CEL. The guys at the shop said it needs a tune-up (which it does). I had replaced the plugs in the fall, so I threw on some new wires. Still misfires.

Could the misfire be caused by a bad cap/rotor? If you could only get a new fuel filter or a new c/r, which would you replace?

The car has other issues, namely a slowly leaking radiator around the side tank crimps (I noticed that during the recent warm weather, the leak stopped, which I believe happened when the metal expanded enough to plug the leak), also just starting after picking it up from the shop. And my tires are still legal, but too worn for comfort.

Isn't this fun?

ps - they said what probably caused the blown gasket (in cylinder 3)was the lack of vacuum regulation on the turbo - a lot of my vacuum hoses were cracked/leaking, so I was running at max boost (15 psi) when flooring it.
Check your hoses to avoid this!

It's probably the spark plugs, the non-copper core don't like the boost pressure and excess heat that it produces and fail early.
A fuel filter from FCPGroton is really cheap, under $20, and you can order a new oil filter and crush washer to save on shipping. Check out the Champion copper plugs at your local autoparts store, should be less than $2 each. Just gap them to .028

What kills a head gasket is over boost, if your turbo blow off valve is not working properly. The guys at Volvospeed.com know all about BOVs. Do a search.

I'll have to check the plugs, they are champion, I just can't remember if they are copper or not.

It sucks learning about overboost the hard way!

thanks for the help.
