'06 V70 2.5t, Ipd Ecu Upgrade Require Exhaust? V70-XC70

I am nearing the expiration of warranty on a 2006, V70 FWD, 2.5LPT. I have wanted to do the IPD ECU upgrade since I got the car. When I went on the IPD website back a couple years, they recommended an exhaust upgrade. When I went on the website the other day, I see no mention of the exhaust upgrade, or any exhaust upgrade offerings in their online catalog. I emailed them via the website, but am sceptical I will receive a reply. Anyone on here have any direct knowledge about exhaust upgrades relative to the IPD ECU reflash????

You need to do a lot more homework. Your engine has a low pressure turbo, the IPD ECU is intended for a high pressure turbo, like the T5 or R. The engines are different.
Go over to turbobricks.com or volvospeed.com and ask for their recomendation on trying to get 300bhp out of an engine designed for 200bhp.

That's strange, as the IPD website lists the 2.5 LPT, with the following stats:

      V70 XC/XC70 2.5T 2003-2007 208/245 236/310 8/14 7.6/6.4

I like the Brickboard because I learn something every day.

That is a nice performance gain, but it still won't become a pocket rocket. The torque is limited to 275 in 1st and 2nd because the torque converter can't handle it and will slip too much and burn out early.

The better exhaust will also help add another 10-15bhp, rerouting the intercooler lets pressure boost sooner.

But that is still a lot of money that I wouldn't spend on a car. I would rather spend the extra dollars and trade for a nice "R", which has the suspension to go with the extra power.
