What kind of engine oil do you use in your V70? V70-XC70 1999

I'm planning on changing the oil in my V70 this weekend. But I don't know which brand is the best. And I read in the book it's 10-30 but not synthetic?

Unless your V70 is turbocharged there is no good reason to spend the extra money on synthetic oils. Normally aspirated VVos are fine with conventional motor oil.

I run Castrol synthetic in my 850T5, my V70 GLT and my V50 T5AWD. I use conventional motor oil in my 940.

You don't mention how many miles you have on your car or if it has any current leaks. If the car is real high mileage or if there are any leaks do not switch over to synthetic oils. A blended oil might be a better step to take if the car is high mileage and if it does not have any leaks. Good luck!

Synthetic is so much better than the old stuff and lets you lengthen the time between oil changes.
Depending on your climate, 10W30 is quite good and works well in cold and hot weather. Stay away from the hyped and more expensive oil for high mileage engines, they are no better than the regular oils.
