the airbag light came on and the trip computer has a message to service airbag.should i clean the seatbelt connections or? I bought this 2001 v70t5 about two months ago and this light came on after about one month of driving.
I really have no clue what to do. Anyone out there have a similar problem?

The last time I saw this, it was for a side bag with its connection under the seat pulled apart. You can try to make sure the connectors are tight and clean, but only a dealer or good Indie shop has the proper scan tool to turn off the SRS light.

P2 cars are notorious for the wiring to the side airbags chafing due to poor routing, and eventually they short out and the light comes on. Until recently, the recomended repair was replacement of the component. Now Volvo has decided airbag harnesses can be spliced.
