OBD II Monitors incomplete 850 1996

I haven't been able to get a "complete" indication on four of the OBD monitors: Catalyst, Evap, O2 Sensor, and O2 Heater. I've tried following the driving routine at thread 540761, but that doesn't seem to have done the trick.

When I got the car about a month ago it had a broken thermostat and was giving me a P0133 code (slow O2 sensor response). I thought I'd gotten rid of that one after I replaced the thermostat, but now that's come back.

Any suggestions, or is it time to go to a shop?

Either replace the front O2 sensor or clean it (blowtorch and cleaner, no scraping or rubbing). Clearing the code just delays the code for a week or 2 depending on driving cycles.

The incomplete messages will then go away after a driving cycle. Hmmm, the EVAP might have a leak and will need to be checked.

After I cleared the code it didn't come back again and I was able to complete the monitors and get the car through emissions testing. What a relief that was. Glad they could plug in the test equipment without shutting off the engine, that seems to reset those four monitors to incomplete.

And the gear selector light that I replaced unsuccessfully even started working spontaneously ... I think Stella appreciates her new home.

I certainly hope you've got that Amazon by now, I detect a new sig in your life. A '64 was my first Volvo, long gone to a better home but not forgotten.
