Everything is back to good today
New battery as old was not doing its job and left the fan running when engine was turned off. New themostat and new fuel filter.

Someone help Klaus locate a great used Volvo please. I can't bear to have him missing out on all the fun.

Ok ,the battery came up to snuff with a charge and the engine started, the fuel filter has been changed so I took it for a cruise. The check engine light appeared ,the temperature gauge was down and then came up very sloowly. I took it and had it read on OBDII port at Autozone, it read engine coolant problem.
I took it home and the cooling radiator fan continued to run after I shut it off. I pulled the fan fuse to eliminate drawing down on the batery again. Wind chill today is -1F. Is this a sensor situation ?

Klaus ,I'm sorry to hear you are Volvoless. Its like not having a girlfriend to give you trouble.

The engine will roll over a bit but not take off. Is there a proper way to introduce gas into the mix to get it running. Its still somewhat cold and I'm going to replace a never replaced fuel filter when I get into the warm garage.

If it is cranking over slowly, then you need a better charge. Your oil might be a little too thick, along with old tranny fluid. 10W30 synthetic engine oil should work nicely, and a good flush with synthetic tranny fluid.

Battery, first. Oil second. A new fuel filter every 5 years, unless you buy at el cheapo fillerup, then every 2 years.
