Hi All,
A friend's V70 has decided not to start.
Has been running fine with no missing or starting difficulty previously. Will turn over but not fire.

If it was a 240 I would climb under and tap the pump politely with a hammer but the in tank pump on the 70 series makes that a little difficult! My experience is that pumps dont usually fail outright....they show failimng symptoms for a while first. Fuses are all okay.

Any suggestions? Are you there Klaus?

Generally you can hear the pump prime when the key is 1st moved to ignition but not started. Listen for it, as I can, and I'm half deaf thanks to my military service. If there is no short run (few seconds), then suspect the fuel pump relay (FPR). Do a search on this and you'll find its location etc.
