Strange problem with the lighting on this car. with the ignition off and/or no key in the 3rd brake light will light. With the ignition on in any position the bulb failure light displays and the 3rd brake light will not light. Problem just showed up out of the blue after a angle gear replacement. Any ideas?

    We all hate wires that short out, because it could be anywhere. Because of the angle gear replacement, I would check any wire bundles near there.

    Then there is also the switch at the brake pedal to check.
    And the wires in the rear hinge could have worn.
