T-Stat S70 1999

Group:
As an average low-end back yard mechanic, will I be able to change the T-stat in a '99 S70 GLt? It just does not warm up and the temp gauge only goes up to 1/4 of the scale.
I have the tools. Are there any difficulties?
I now know to not tighten the coolant drain on an 850 too much.
Don't ask how I know!

You'll do fine. I used the coolant drain on radiator. It's so convienent I don't know why one would use anything but.

Pay attention to the orientation of the thermostat in the housing. Have a razor blade scraper handy and plan some time into the job to use it to clean the corrosion from the mating surfaces.

If I can do it, anyone can. Drain out about 1 quart or so of fluid from the engine drain plug, I just loosened the bottom drain hose - a little messy, but that worked for me.
The 1998 has t40 screws which were a pain to remove, 0thers on the board suggest buying two new screws for replacements - I could reuse mine.
