Good evening everyone.

The a/c fan (inside the car) is making a lot of noise. It works fine at any speed, just squeels and is obnoxious. I wanted to know if there was a way to open it up (easily) and lubricate it or if that's not worth my time, should I be trying to find a used one at the junkyard.
I read that the fans inside the 240's were a real pain to replace but that these aren't as hard. I've already removed the glove compartment.
Also, what do I lubricate it with? The stuff that I use on door hinges?

I'll have to disagree. The fan is VERY easy to take apart and lubricate. Remove the old fan and just pry out the plug adapter. Take out the ONE screw on the end of the fan housing and just pull the motor out. You don't even have to take the cage off. POC ...! You may find the brushes are worn and the connector wires are getting tight. If you're handy with a soldering gun you can heat up and uncrimp the connection and slip the wire a bit to get more slack. Just a little more work than doing a replacement and you should do the same procedure anyway with any used fan you're thinking about using.

Too much trouble to get to the bearings and lube them. Buy a new motor, if you can pry the old cage off the shaft. It is a press on fitting. Do not remove the staples on the cage, they are for balancing.

Getting one from a junkyard may, or may not, save you some money. As you said, they are easy enough to get out of the car. One last word - the electrical wire holders, the one at 11:30, slides up and out.
