low beam lamp failure 2004 v70 V70-XC70

It seems I am changing low beam H7's too often. They fail in less than 11 months. When I changed the last one the electrical connector that fastens to the back of the lamp felt as if it was crumbling apart while I pressed on the lamp contacts. Why do these cars go through lamps (it is a 2004 NA v70)? Was there a recall for this problem? The car was bought volvo-certified-used and I have some warranty left.

I had to replace this bulb often too when I first got the car about 4 years ago. But haven't been burning out quite so quick in the last 2+ years.

I thought I read somewhere they have improved them. I got my latest bulbs from your local auto store. I think just your average lowest cost Sylvania brand.

I have a 2004 V70. I Had to replace a low beam element (drivers side) at 65,000 (5/07) and that is the only bulb on the whole car todate. Has the voltage to the bulb been checked???

My 1998 had a recall for the plugs. The dealer added about 6 inches of wiring to keep the plug away from the headlight.

Dealer is the best bet.
