PCV System V70-XC70 2000

Has anybody here ever replaced the pcv system on their cars? I am looking at this project soon and I need some positive reinforcement :) The parts are cheap enough but it looks like it could be a bugger of a job. I just want to know what to look for before i get into it to far.

Thanks,
Ken

It requires the removal of the intake manifold, the separator box is under it. At least a 5 hour DIY job, for the first timer.
If you have always used synthetic engine oil, the separator box should be relatively clean. The things to watch are the vacuum line that comes out of the intake manifold behind the PS pump (if it is cracked and appears to be leaking, then replace all of the lines when you take the manifold off), and pull out the oil dipstick and check for light suction at idle. Any pressure there will mean that you need to replace the PCV system.

There is a write up on Volvospeed for Knock sensor replacement, which shows what is involved.

I have check FCP several times now, quite thouroughly i believe, and I can't fine a replacement pcv system. I can find one for just about all other volvo models but not mine. I found one for a 2000 V70, but i'm not sure if it will fit a 2000 V70 XC? Any ideas?

      Thanks,
      Ken
