Got an alignment but.... 850 1995

...changed the front and rear shocks plus the rear bushing. But the car is still pulling to the right to the point that I have to slightly hold the wheel to the left or else the car will slowly creep to the right. What coudl be the problem. Also, is there a break in period for the new shocks. I mean i replace the old one with the OEM Sachs brand and the ride is as worst as when the old one was in the car!! Oh yeah. labor charge for the entire procedure including alignment is $640. Does this sound right??

if you have not done it yet... have the tires thoroughly checked.

i has a set that had a problem with the internal steel belt. i had the local tire garage telling me that the frame was bent while another dope in that garage performed an alignment even though they said it was within factory tolerances, (roll eyes) finally when i was at the frame shop... the frame tech puts it on the 'rack' and shows me the measurements and tells me that its arrow straight. "didja check the tires?" he asks. he rotated the left to the right and we drove it, the problem switched sides. my car was driving like the rear bumper wanted to be in front and moderately pulling to one side. it was only and bad tire. the frame mechanic called my tire shop and set them straight and the guys at the 'tire garage' didn't say a word and i got all new tires.

good luck!

See how the rubber piece is not flush on the shock mount. What's the deal here. The shop screwed it up or what???

The price is in the ballpark. I would suggest getting a 4 wheel alignment, not just the front. This should be a freebee, since the first alignment didn't work and they found nothing bent.

There is no break in period for shocks. If the car still dives when stopping, you might have a bad shock. Have the shop check it out.

Did they not test drive the car after they worked on it?

Is this a new car to you?

In the front, besides the "shocks," what else did they replace? Specifically, some other parts they may have included are: spring seat, strut mount or strut bearing, control arm, tie rod end or steering knuckle.

We need to know what actually got changed besides the "shock."

Okay...the shop said everything looks good. They changed the spring seat, mount and sturts for the front and then the shocks, shock mounts and the bhushings for the trailing arms for the rear and that's all. The car isn't diving, it's just bumpy as heck.

Is this car new to you?

What kind of shop is this? Do they have an alignment rack, or are they just taking a tape measure between the front wheels?
