Lately I have been hearing a strange very emberassing noise coming from the exhaust (atleast that's where i think its coming from. It doesn't occur in idle, nor does it occur at constant speed (except at a constant speed up a hill). It basically only occurs when i tap on the gas when driving or when I drive up a hill (it's loudest then). It's difficult to describe but it sounds like something is rolling around in the tailpipe or somewhere underneath the car. I climbed underneath the other day to see if anything was loose but there was nothing, the only thing that i noticed is the exhaust tip was badly rusted off and flaking. I will probably take it to a local shop sometime soon, but was wondering if anybody has any ideas what it could be. Could that exhaust tip make all that noise?

When the tail pipe is cold, try shaking it. It sounds like a hanger came loose. It could very well be a loose tip. The tip can be taken off fairly easily, and an oval tip can be bought at Wallmart or any auto parts store.
